Frequently Asked Questions

What are the residency requirements for Mount Kisco Little League?

Players will be eligible to play for Mount Kisco Little League ("MKLL") if they reside within or the physical location of the school where they attend classes is within the boundary of Mount Kisco Little League.  These schools include:

  • Mount Kisco Elementary School
  • Fox Lane Middle School
  • West Patent Elementary School

When does the season begin?

Please check the MKLL calendar on the MKLL web page for exact league dates and events. Typically, the season begins during the first or second week in April and extends until mid-June.

How long will the season last?

The MKLL regular game season usually lasts from 9-10 weeks from April through June.   Please consider your vacation plans if you have a child that may be selected to these teams.  For Minors, games begin around the middle of April.

Where are MKLL games played?

MKLL utilizes the baseball fields at Leonard Park and J Fox Memorial Park.  See the Locations link for more information.

When will the practices begin?

MKLL targets the beginning of March for Little League teams to start practicing, typically the week after draft night.  Actual first practices will depend upon weather and formation of teams. For Minors, practices typically begin around the beginning of April.

How often and long will my child practice?

Practice frequency and duration are up to the team manager and vary based on the division. All practices and games will be managed and can be viewed through the respective TeamWalls.  Once your child has been drafted by a team, you will be able to locate the TeamWall by going to the League Home page and clicking DIVISION and then clicking which division your child will be in (Minor, Little League, Travel).  Once you click on Division, click on your team name and you will be brought to your respective TeamWall site.

What equipment will my child need before the first practice or game?

Players should arrive at their first practice with a glove, hat, baseball pants, and rubber molded cleats. A baseball bag is recommended to transport bats, batting gloves, water bottles, hats, and other items.

Are there any uniform supplies my child needs?

A uniform consists of a pair of baseball pants, belt, a baseball jersey, a hat, and a pair of all-in-one baseball socks. MKLL will provide each player within Minor League with a team jersey and a team hat. For Little League and Travel, MKLL will provide each player with a team jersey, baseball pants, belt and socks.  Please check the League Home website for news on when players need to be fitted for these items.  Players are responsible for purchasing cleats (rubber only, steel spikes are not allowed). A quality leather glove is a must.

Are there conduct rules that apply during games?

Absolutely. MKLL does not tolerate foul language or taunting at any level by the players, parents, managers, or coaches. Any spectator, player, manager or coach that is warned is subject to being ejected from the premises and banned from the complex for additional games.

Who do I contact if I have a problem that needs to be resolved by the league?

If at any time you have a problem or just want information, you can e-mail the league at any time. However, please first discuss any concerns with your child's coach. Contact information is on the MKLL web site under the "Contact Us" link.
